How summerfieldtech.com handles your data: this site collects nothing itself. What Cloudflare sees, what happens when you email us, and your rights.

The short version
This site collects nothing about you. No analytics, no cookies, no accounts, no forms, no ads, no trackers. It runs one small script of its own that only chooses whether to load the home page's background video, and that script sends what it reads nowhere. The company that hosts the site sees requests the way any host does, and the list below names it.

Who we are
We are Summerfield Technologies, an independent software company and a sole proprietorship based in Ontario, Canada. For anything privacy-related, write to hello@summerfieldtech.com.
What we collect directly
Nothing. This site sets no cookies and has no forms or accounts. There is nowhere to type your name and no code watching what you read. It loads no script from anyone else. It runs one small script of its own, on the home page only, that reads three settings of your browser (whether you have asked for reduced motion, how wide the screen is, and whether data saving is on) to choose whether to load the background video. It stores nothing and sends what it reads nowhere. If it plays the video, your browser asks this site for the video file, and Cloudflare logs that request like any other. Here is how to check that yourself. Even the typefaces, the images and the video are served from this site itself, not from another service. There is no cookie banner because there are no cookies.
Third parties that see your requests anyway
Serving a website still means computers talking to each other, so one company handles your requests on the way here. We would rather name it than wave at "trusted partners."
- Cloudflare. The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. To serve and secure it, Cloudflare processes request metadata (your IP address and user-agent) and keeps standard server logs. Cloudflare's policy is at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
That is the whole list of companies that see requests to this site. The other named third party, Microsoft, hosts our email, as described next.
Contact here works by plain mailto link. Email to any address here is hosted by Microsoft 365. Microsoft's privacy statement is at microsoft.com/en-us/privacy/privacystatement. If you write to us, we see your email address and whatever you chose to send. We use it to reply, usually within 2-3 business days, and that is all. We do not add you to a list, share your address, or keep it anywhere clever. Please send unclassified information only.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, laws like the GDPR give you rights over your personal data: to see what a company holds about you, to correct it, and to have it deleted. Here is the honest picture: unless you have emailed us, we hold nothing about you at all. If you have, ask at hello@summerfieldtech.com and we will tell you what we have (your email) and delete it if you want. In Canada, the law that applies to us is PIPEDA, overseen by the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. If you are ever unhappy with how we handle a request, you can take it to them at priv.gc.ca.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date at the top, and the policy changes before the site does. No pop-ups, no "we've updated our terms" email blast. We don't have a mailing list to blast.
